Big Shine Worldwide, a global leader in semiconductor technology, was honored with the prestigious Tower Award at the 2021 Trade Day Anniversary Ceremony in Seoul on December 6, 2021.
The Tower Award is given to companies that have achieved outstanding export performance and contributed to the growth of South Korea’s economy. Big Shine Worldwide was among the more than 1,500 companies that received the award from President Moon Jae-in, who praised their innovation and competitiveness in the global market.
The ceremony was organized by the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and celebrated the milestone of South Korea’s trade surpassing $1 trillion during that year.
Big Shine Energy, a subsidiary of Big Shine Worldwide, received a Contractor Recognition Award from Orange & Rockland, a utility company serving New York and New Jersey, for Big Shine’s energy efficiency project at President Container Group (PCG), a leading manufacturer of corrugated containers.
The project involved retrofitting PCG’s 522,000 sq. ft. facility with LED lighting solutions from Big Shine Worldwide, resulting in a reduction of more than one million kilowatt hours and 2.4 million pounds of CO2 emissions annually. The project also earned PCG a rebate of $89,500 from Orange & Rockland in 2017. The award ceremony, held on November 16, 2023, celebrated the achievements of contractors who have helped Orange & Rockland’s customers save energy and money. Big Shine Energy was among the top performers in the commercial and industrial sector, demonstrating its commitment to environmental sustainability and customer satisfaction.
Every year, Big Shine Worldwide honors the corporations that have joined its Approaching Zero campaign, a global movement to achieve carbon neutrality. It recognizes the work top energy savers have carried out to achieve net-zero carbon emissions goals. In the past, Big Shine has recognized companies such as Starbucks Coffee, Lithia Motors, Sysco Foods, among others.
